What is Fawtara
Oman's national e-invoicing system
Fawtara is the Sultanate of Oman's electronic invoicing programme led by the Oman Tax Authority (OTA), developed with Omantel. It replaces paper and PDF invoices with structured digital documents that move securely between businesses and report tax data to the Authority in near real time.
Objectives include stronger VAT compliance, fraud reduction, transaction transparency, and interoperability with international Peppol networks using the PINT-OM standard.
How it works
The 5-Corner exchange model
Businesses do not submit invoices directly to OTA. Each party connects through an accredited service provider on the Peppol network while tax data is reported to Fawtara.

Mandate expands across remaining large VAT-registered taxpayers.
